Phone dump- pictures of my cuties and other random stuff
Hi! The holiday season is upon us and things are CRAZY over here!! It surely is 'the most wonderful time of the year' and definitely the busiest for us. The hubs is working about 65 hours a week at this point getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have been quite literally stuck at home-we had a HUGE blizzard last week which left us with 16 inches of snow. Not weather for dragging three kids with you to the grocery store! On top of being an almost single Mom right now (you real single Moms are AMAZING!), I am also refinishing a huge dining table and hutch for a client who is having a big Christmas party December 15th. No sweat huh!?
All I got for you today is the pics I've finally downloaded off my phone, some of which are from the summer. Lame, I know. However, if you can make it past all the pics of my cutie pie boys there's some pretty awesome pics from an estate sale I went to last week.

August- Before you all call DFS on me......one day after church this summer we had to run to WalMart. Little man was starving of course (don't babies have the BEST timing!), so Stanley ran in with the older boys and I nursed Isaac in the car. When he was done eating I stuck him in Phin's car seat to chill and he loved it!

This weekend- These two trouble makers took every single sheet, blanket and pillow in our house, piled them up in Isaac's crib and jumped on in. I'm going to give that crib a really good review for not breaking!!

My brother Mikey came home for our younger brothers wedding reception in September and brought Jude the full Star Wars collection on DVD. After we picked him up at the airport the boys had to come home and take naps. : )

My jaw dropped when I saw this dining set not only because of the price-we'll get there in a second- but because I have NEVER seen anything close to this in my town. It's kind of unheard of to have something like this here.
Anyway, whole dining set, table and eight chairs in perfect condition, original (spotless) velvet upholstery........ $1,495!!!!

Quiet Time and hard days
The past few weeks have been tough ones and my heart is heavy.
Three weeks ago a couple very close to us suffered a miscarriage.
Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.

Last week a friend of mine lost her 8 month old baby boy. I'm devastated for her and her husband and their three year old daughter.
Isaiah 43:1-2
But now, this is what the LORD says—

I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
When you pass through the waters,

I've been holding my sweet boys tighter this week.
Every time Isaac gets up to nurse at night I spend the time praying and more often than not crying for my friend and her family. Although they have hard days ahead, I know that the Lord holds them in His hand and that is such a comforting thought!
When something bad happens, the sovereignty of God is a very hard truth to accept, because if he is in control of everything, we wonder why he has allowed this universe to be ordered in a way that causes us pain. But when we begin to think that "the God I know would never allow this," we have taken our first step toward discovering that God is not who we think he is. That is when we can begin to explore the wonder of his sovereignty. Though God's sovereignty can be hard to accept, it is also a soft place to land. It is a rock underfoot when the winds blow in our lives. It confronts what seems absurd in our existence. God's sovereignty is our greatest hope as we face an uncertain and unknown future.
Some days we praise God not with exuberance, but through tears. Some days we praise him not with complete clarity, but with many questions. Some days we praise him not with gratitude for what he's given to us, but with gratitude in spite of what we've lost. Our difficult circumstances do not call his character into question. We know that he is wise and powerful and good, and we praise him for it—continually. In fact, in the darkness of our lives he shines brighter.

Late nights
Our older boys, two and almost five, have been sharing a room for over a year now. Everything started out pretty good. However, over the past six months they have been awful at bedtime! We let them have books, a nightlight and they can talk all they want as long as they do it quietly and stay in their beds. That didn't last long. They jumped on their beds, climbed up on and walked across the dresser between their beds to get to each other, stripped all the sheets and blankets off of their beds and threw them out in the hallway and any other naughty thing a young boy could come up with. They wouldn't stop coming out of their room so we put up a baby gate in the doorway. Once they figured out how to climb over it we had to double up on them, thankfully they never climbed it, but all that it solved was keeping them in the room. It's steadily gotten worse and worse and Stanley and I were spending almost two hours every evening getting them to go to sleep. That meant the only time that we had with each other was spent in frustration. I had had enough. We considered splitting them up and moving Jude downstairs but I knew he wouldn't sleep down there by himself. We had also talked about getting bunk beds, then at least they wouldn't be looking right at each other. One day when Stanley was at work last week (after an especially late night), I moved the crib from the nursery into Jude's room and moved Phins bed into the nursery. The first day was a little rough, Phin is so used to sleeping with Jude and he was upset. One week later though bed time is bliss! We still have some nights that are a little rough but now we're looking at thirty minutes at the most and not two hours. Most importantly Stanley and I have our evenings back and I can't tell you how nice that is. This set up is only temporary though because Isaac is still in our room in the bassinet. Once he moves into the crib we'll have to see how things go. The boys may get moved downstairs at that point, who knows. For now I'm just happy that bedtime no longer makes me want to pull my hair out!
Anyone else have any problems like this??
PS- Anyone know if this is real La Fiorentina? It sure looks and feels like the real thing but I'm not sure of the colorway!? I ran into Ross a few weeks ago to return something and found a pair of these pillows for the exact amount of my return ($9.99 a pillow!).
