New hardware

Pretty soon I'll be starting on Isaac's nursery and since I am going to be repainting the dresser (vintage Thomasville) I wanted to get some new hardware for it as well. I decided to see if I could find some vintage hardware on ebay, however since I need 13 drawer pulls it was hard to come by. I really recommend checking it out though if you only need a few pieces for a smaller piece of furniture, there was some really great stuff!

In the end I decided to go with these art deco pulls, still from ebay but they are new not vintage.

I got 25 knobs for under $25.....you can't beat that! Since I only need 13 for the dresser I have plenty left over for some side projects.

Here they are on the dresser, which hasn't been painted yet-I just wanted to see how they looked.

Love it!!

And while I'm at it, here is what his nursery looks like since I've never posted photos. Beware....it's become a storage room since Phin moved out of it!

(the dresser has feet that I need to put back on it so it won't look so low when it's all done)

Yikes........I have my work cut out for me!

Living Room update

Well, here they are as promised-pictures of the Living Room updates I've been working on.

I'm in the process of painting the china hutch that goes in the corner....looks a little naked right now. I also need to reposition the rug, it needs to go further under the couch about another foot. My hubby will be SO excited to help move it...again. :)

Sorry for the awful lighting, I had to use my flash.....really hard to get a good picture of this front window. I still need to paint and reupholster these chairs, maybe when pigs fly after Isaac is born. That little stool is also begging for a makeover.

DIY painting I did inspired by the fabulous Caroline Wright.

New rug from overstock.com and coffee table from a local used furniture store (for $22!!).

I bought bamboo shades for both windows and measured wrong on the side window, woops, so I still need to exchange the shade and get it hung. Pillow fabric is a velvet from Holly Hunt.

P

Still trying to find a floor lamp to put next to my pink chair, oil painting is of my Grandmother (on loan from my Mom).

I'm still working on the other side of the room....tweaking my gallery wall just a little and attempting a pair of DIY faux painted bone inlaid mirrors.

Oh, the projects I decide to take on when I'm pregnant!! :)

Quiet Time

From one of my all time favorite hymns, Great is Thy Faithfulness.

Wishing I was at church instead of home with two sick boys and a sick husband this morning!

Recovery and Isaac's Nursery Plans

Well, we are home (we got home about 12:30pm yesterday after his surgery at 9:30am) and Jude is doing great! If you prayed for us yesterday morning thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! I was very worried about how he was going to react to being taken back to the OR by himself but he did wonderful! It was a little rough after he woke up until the meds kicked in but let me just say that he is a TROOPER! They didn't use any local anesthesia for the procedure, just the gas to knock him out and then regular old tylenol.  He was pretty sore yesterday but did really well with just the tylenol. Since it was such a minor procedure it should heal very quickly in the next 2-3 days. This morning he woke up his happy, cheery self.

 God is good!!!!

So beyond recovery for Jude there is lots going on around our house, including cleaning up the nursery and getting it ready for new paint.

Baby boy # 3, Isaac Asher is due at the end of June, that sounds so far off but it's not!  I have about three and a half months before I won't be able to see my feet anymore to get prepared for his arrival.

Here are the updated plans for his nursery.

Baby boy # 3 Nursery

I will be using the same curtains, slipcovered chair, nesting tables, neutral area rug and dresser (have to paint it) that are already in the room, along with the same layout.

The crib that I decided on, thanks for your help by the way, is this one:

I may get this under the crib storage drawer.......

......with some paint and new hardware it would look like this gorgeous, Dorothy Draper inspired (and very expensive) crib.

I have fabric to make a spotted crib sheet like the one above. I also have the same round vinyl ottoman as on the moddboard, but mine is emerald green.

Above the crib I'm planning on hanging this cheeky print from Urban Outfitters.

Along the other wall above the dresser I'm thinking about hanging three long mirrors horizontally...like this.

I pre-ordered this rug from Urban Outfitters and I'm so excited to see it in person, layered over the other rug. It ships on March 8th, I can't wait!

I found the tripod lamp base at Target on sale so I snatched it up. I love how masculine it is...kind of makes me want to steal it for somewhere else in the house! :)

I'll post pictures when I get some of these projects done.....crazy to think that Isaac will be here in four months! I can't wait to meet him!!

Introducing..............

So, have you been waiting with bated breath for my little announcement??

My ultrasound went great! We had a really awesome tech who turned the screen away whenever she got close to any private parts, and sealed the picture and the card announcing baby's sex in an envelope immediately. After the ultrasound was over we took the card, which said "It's a ________!" (our ultrasound tech filled in the blank and sealed it away) to a local bakery (Crooked Tree Coffee and Cakes...YUM!!!!!) and dropped it off. They made us two dozen cupcakes with either pink or blue frosting on the inside, so that we could all take a bite and find out together. That night we met our family and some close friends at my parents house for our gender reveal. It was so much fun!

And the frosting is..................................................

BLUE!!!!!!!!!

Yep, that's right another boy!!   I guess I'm just destined to be surrounded by handsome men!

Introducing Isaac Asher Waddell, who by the way was sucking his thumb through the entire ultrasound!

 Our little alien! ; )

It's a boy!!

I have to say that for a very long time I was SURE that this time it was a girl. However, the night before my ultrasound I had a dream that we had another boy. When I woke up that morning I "KNEW" that it was another boy! Having a girl would've been fun, but I am really not disappionted at all!! I LOOOOOVE my boys and having another one just seems perfect, I don't know how else to describe it. We are very excited to say the least!

However, I am back to square one with Isaac's nursery. I'm just not loving the direction that I was going before. Pretty sure I've figured it out though and I'll share it with you soon! It may include some of these things:

I will also have some pictures of our newly painted living room soon. I really did like the colors that we had before but the paint finish was AWFUL! I bought satin but once I got it up on the walls it was clear that satin was not going to cut it. Every mark, handprint, etc. showed up and could not be washed/wiped off. Having boys and (pretty much) flat paint is a big no-no! I had a gallon of semi gloss leftover from painting the office so I decided to go the budget friendly route and just use that. I had to buy one more gallon but that will get me down the hallway as well (next on the to-do list). I also sold the coffe table that I refinished and bought something a little more up my alley, along with an area rug which should be here Monday. Once we get the rug layed down I'll take some pics.

Posting may be sparse for the next week, we have a church conference this weekend and on Monday poor Jude has to have surgery. It's a really quick procedure but since it's a little traumatic (he has to get re-circumsised) he has to be put under for it. Prayers are appreciated!!

Have a great weekend!!!!
