Our Bathroom Reveal!!

Giving up the pipe dream today. I have hope though, in the form of a (maybe) kitchen remodel come spring.

Fingers crossed for a decent tax return! ;)

Ok so just for fun, lets take one more look at the 'before' shots:

So, so, SO sick.

And here my loyal readers, all twelve of you, are the afters.

My camera really sucks.....the flooring is gray not craptastic Tuscan brown.

*The door still needs a couple coats of glossy black

*The colors are weird here because of the flash, but look how my contractor modified those drawers around the plumbing!!

LOVE this sink hardcore!
It's really huge and even when my three year old washes his hands there's no over spray onto the counter.

I'm seriously thrilled with how this bathroom turned out and more thrilled that it cost under $3500 for EVERYTHING!

So spill it peeps, did I knock your socks off?

*If not, just wait for our kitchen remodel ;)

Hi Katie,

I feel like your blog is so underrated! Your bathroom looks awesome- I do think you should send it around to a few more places for a feature, oh and I think your chances of getting featured would skyrocket if you hired someone to take some professional photographs. I say this because I am terrible at photography and have made friends with some awesome photographers who make my projects (weddings and photo shoots) look even better than they are. I can tell how awesome your house looks through your lens, but I know it could look magazine worthy with the right photography!!!

Thank you so much Jennifer, that totally made my day!! I agree about the photographer!! If we end up doing the kitchen in the spring I'm going to have the whole upstairs shot, the basement redo is in the 20 year plan. :) My Aunt is actually an amazing photographer so I may be calling in a favor!

Girl... if I lived near you I would shoot it for you. It looks amazing!!! I need to know everything about the vanity situation. And is that FORMICA? I only ask because I have been looking at marble formica of late. Kind of obsessed...

CONGRATULATIONS!

Dude! That is spectacular!! I'm sooo impressed you were able to do all of that on that tiny budget!

I also agree with Jennifer, if you had some professional shots I think that whole room would come alive. What kind of camera do you shoot with?

Ok, so, for what I love best: the art wall. Seriously beautiful and I love it with the shower curtain. Kudos. For what I love second best: the sconces! What a find! I wasn't sure how all of those things would work in one space but you completely pulled it off. I also completely dig the vanity/countertop combo.

Really, really beautiful job. I hope your family appreciates all this gorgeousness wrapped up in such a utilitarian space. Your kitchen remodel (when it happens) is going to kick some serious arse. (I can say arse, here, right?)

Nice work! xoxo

Erin, Thank you! YES, Formica!!! I've been pinning (to a new board-MY KITCHEN)tons of the faux marble/laminate kitchens...they are seriously awesome! LOVE this product and will definitely be using it in the kitchen with a different edge. The vanity was the easiest part about this whole thing! Stained it (Jacobean Minwax) and then sealed it with Miwax Finishing Paste Wax, the boys can beat it up all they want and it will only look better!

Kati, Wow thank you so much!! I've been stealing my Mom's camera, Kodak Easy Share Z981...it's pretty awful but WAY better than anything I have! I may steal her Iphone next time, it may take better pics!

And yes you can say arse ;)

I love the dresser that you used for a sink! Everything looks awesome!! Such a change from the before.

Your bathroom looks great! I love the special vanity drawers under the sink. Great idea. We put black and white speckled formica with a bullnose edge in our kitchen and laundry room almost 16 years ago. It still looks great. From a distance people do not know it is laminate. It is holding up well!

Clapping and whooping ...amazing job! Love the sink! Our sink is teeny weeny and now I am very jealous xx

This looks great!!! Such an amazing difference from the "before" shots. I love how you incorporated so many details into a BATHROOM!

It looks AMAZEBALLS. Did you cover the tile with boards? Sink is a great find.

Katie Waddell said...

Khammany, Naomi, Karen and Meredith-THANK YOU!!!
ROK-Thank you! They were actually plastic tiles on the wall, only about an eighth of an inch thick. I chipped them off the wall and we had 1"x6" blue pine tongue and groove installed right over the leftover glue from the tile.

I've had trouble leaving comments lately and actually thought I left one over a week ago! anyway, your transformation is beautiful! Some of my favorite things about it are that you did it in on a budget (but you can't tell!), the mix of finishes, the overhead light, the sink/vanity, and the art wall. you should be so proud!

Thank you so much Leah!! Sorry you've been having issues....I'll be checking on that!

wow! gorgeous! my bathroom still has all the pink fixtures... tub, toilet, sink. but we painted the walls dark dark charcoal {almost black} and did what you did... covered the walls with a gallery of photos. love your gallery wall!! and the light in there is amazing!! would love to know where you got that! beautifully done!

Georgia that sounds beautiful! If ours was in decent shape I would've done something very similar but unfortunately it was all falling apart. The light fixture was a steal on ebay...haven't seen any like it recently though.
