We unfortunately don't have any crown molding, just baseboards and door/window trim. There is also two sets of built in cabinets that I would probably paint black. One at the end of the hallway (linen storage) and a china cabinet/pantry on the wall leading into the kitchen from the living room.
For white/ivory rooms it adds so much interest!
Will it look stupid with no crown molding?
Thoughts???

I think painting bottom trim black w/o crown molding might be hard but if you did doors and trim, or built in furniture it would look good. I'm not brave enough to do black trim or doors!
I totally agree Nat! Without the doors and windows it would be too weird. I just noticed that the second to last picture has no crown molding. :)
You can always add crown molding if the baseboard/windows/doors option isn't working. Adding crown is pretty non-invasive, and you could pre-paint it so you only need to touch it up afterward. I say go for it! The only thing that all those rooms may have that your home might not is high ceilings - that always makes the light and space feel more airy, but that's not to say it won't work for you. Do it!
Wao!! I think it will be amazing. I don't think it will matter that you don't have crown moldings. Share with us the results please!
Kati I thought the same thing but thankfully the living and dining/kitchen get a TON of natural light! :)
Thank you! I will for sure share after pics!! :)
