Blurry

Remember the time when I would post two to three times a week?

Yeah, me neither.....it was a loooooong time ago.

Writing this blog has been such a great experience but the last 6 months or so have been like pulling teeth. I feel completely uninspired to write like I used to, but that's not a bad thing.

I could explain my absence with  how busy I've been and all the stuff we have going on, yada, yada, yada, but you know what?

Everyone is busy!  There are mom's out there who work full time and still blog everyday, every week. It's a big priority for them and that's fine for them.

I've realized though that it's not fine for me.

I'm not saying goodbye but I am taking a few steps back.

In order for me to post constantly, I am constantly on the computer. Reading blogs, surfing Pinterest, typing posts, uploading photos, on and on and on. Besides taking time away from my husband, my kids, my LIFE.... I've noticed that it very easily breeds a dissatisfaction in me for my own home which then leads to me needing wanting what I don't have.

Anyone else in the same boat??

I definitely think that the internet breeds discontent. I actually always feel incompetant with all the DIYers...I don't have that level of energy (or acumen with power tools...I don't like sharp things). Step away if it is not working for you--it is supposed to be fun. But I hope you come back soon...you are one of the people who inspired me to start a blog :)

Girl, I feel you. I've been mainly absent from my own blog, and even only half paying attention to other people's blogs. Some of it stems from my own difficult transition (move, downsize, culture shock, etc.), and some of it from over saturation. Doesn't it feel like so many blogs/bloggers are pushing you to buy something new, or to constantly produce new looks/vignettes/trends, etc.? It's hard to keep up with the pace being set on social media et al.

I still find inspiration from real people doing real design, so if/when you feel like writing I'll be around to read. Just lurking quietly, and invisibly supporting your real life.

Word to the word, my homie. I keep trying to blog but recently it's hard. Over the years I've realized blogging is a disease for me... I just can't quit it. But I also can't engage and make it a marketing machine like the pros do. And if in any way it seems like I am a pro, keep in mind that I'm coming up on year 6 of blogging with zero to little pay. Basically, if you feel motivated to do it then do it. And if you don't, use that energy elsewhere!

Just crazy erin's two cents ;) And the comments above me come from two very smart ladies so take note.
