Isaac Asher

Isaac Asher was born at 6:38pm via C-section on Friday the 15th. He weighed 8lb 11oz and was 20.5 inches long. He had a Pneumothorax, which is a collection of air between the lung and the chest wall that develops when air leaks out of the lung.

He has been in the NICU since his birth. They inserted a chest tube to drain the air from his chest cavity as well as a ventilator to help him breathe as he was struggling to on his own.

Please pray for our sweet little baby! He is starting to show some improvement and we are hoping that he will be able to come home soon!!

Thank you to all who have been praying for our family, we truly appreciate it!

Isaac is doing so much better today! They've completely weaned him off of the dopamine for his blood pressure and were able to take out the IV in his forehead. They have the chest tube clamped off and if his vitals stay steady they will take it out tomorrow. I was also able to give him some breast milk on a Q-tip. No timeline on when he will come home, he has a few goals to reach first. The first BIG one is getting the chest tube out and then the ventilator. He also needs to be able to hold his body temp out of the heated bed and then there is eating to conquer. He still has a way to go but has made great progress in the last two days.

I am seriously biting my nails for you over this... and yet you sound amazing!

I hope he recuperates quickly and starts eating like a champ!!!

More updates when you can :)

Thank you Erin!!

Isaac is off of the ventilator!!! They also removed the chest tube and the IV in his umbilical cord. He is off all medications except an antibiotic and is doing great. His throat is extremely sore from the ventilator and he is very hoarse. Because of that they will start feeding him through a feeding tube tomorrow and then progress to a bottle eventually. He is doing great and will most likely be home early next week. :)

How are you doing lady??
